We are also going to have our first plant sale at our farmstand next weekend. In order to be ready for that we have been making flyers to put around town and brochures for people to pre-order vegetable/herb starts. We are selling 18 different kinds of tomatoes, 9 kinds of peppers, beans, squash, lettuces, herbs, and tomatillos. We are selling starts for $2 a piece with a goal of making $1000. Supplies for the plant sale include wooden plant lables, information sheets with planting requirements & containers (recycled yogurt, salsa, sourcream containers).
We are excited to be selling our produce instead of just planting it and watching it grow! We will have salad greens and herbs available at the Grass Valley Market on Saturday, May 1st.

We’re excited to hear about your first Farmers Market!  Ours is fast approaching.  Like you, we opted for biodegradable plastic bags (and small paper bags).  Since we have a while before we’ll need berry baskets, etc., we haven’t ordered those yet.  Thanks for the links!

We really like your logo; it is very expressive without being overly-complicated.

Three farms are starting from scratch.

They are turning the dirt and hoping to be successful enough to turn a profit, and to become a valuable part of their communities as suppliers of organically grown food.

Peaceful Valley is giving them a head start by offering them special pricing as part of this Freshman Farmer program.
