We need to get our garlic planted already! I have 15# of beautiful large heads of Music (hardneck variety) and 15# of early California white (softneck)..
all from Peaceful Valley. Hoping that after this year I won’t need to purchase seed garlic - just plant what we save from our harvest!
This Sunday we’ll have one last hurrah on the farm - well, as a group.
Technically the apprenticeship program ended, but because we weren’t able to plant garlic at our last enrichment session on Monday night, I’m hoping that the farmies will want to spend one last day together at the farm this season.

Three farms are starting from scratch.

They are turning the dirt and hoping to be successful enough to turn a profit, and to become a valuable part of their communities as suppliers of organically grown food.

Peaceful Valley is giving them a head start by offering them special pricing as part of this Freshman Farmer program.
