Can I Keep Him?

It was an interesting day at the farm today.  I was working in the fields cutting green matter for our compost when a meteor came out of the sky!  It crashed into the wooded area behind the field shed.  I went down to take a look and in the middle of the crater I found a baby.  I named him Skippy.

Nice scythe, how do you rate it as a replacement for a weed wacker?

Well, it is certianly quieter.  It takes some practice to get used to it and put the right English into it (a little Amish joke there).  You need to keep the sharpening stone in your pocket and sharpen the scythe about every ten minutes.  It’s a workout, and it brings some art to the field.

You guys!  What a hoot.  The only thing funnier than that crazy post is the fact that Dustin picked the ONE “real” element and asked a serious question about it.

Three farms are starting from scratch.

They are turning the dirt and hoping to be successful enough to turn a profit, and to become a valuable part of their communities as suppliers of organically grown food.

Peaceful Valley is giving them a head start by offering them special pricing as part of this Freshman Farmer program.
